The mysterious master ‘金无着’ has two heads on two torsos, a rich one and a poor one. A golden hook and a copper coin are his weapons. His name can be translated as ‘gold without settlement’ which implies production with uncertain budget.
The set design of the white birch woods was inspired by a scene in the Assassin directed by Hsiao-hsien Hou.
