Ashes of Time directed by Kar Wei Wong is the reference for the intro scene of Banban the cat knight.
The protagonist Banban has a pair of blue eyes, furry ears with one side braided and a scar on his face. In addition to his sword, he has seven rings on the tail which could be used as throwing weapons.
